Last week I made a trip to Blacksburg Middle School – East. Today, I ventured out to see how the first day was going at the High School.

The principal, Mr. Hurst, was kind enough to take me around during lunch time. As with the Middle School, I was impressed with the adjustment made by administrators, teachers and students. Like the Middle School, these dedicated people have not had much of a summer and have put in many hours to make the transition work.

So, congratulations to both schools for taking a bad situation and working hard to overcome obstacles for the students in this end of the county.
