Huckleberry Trail Extension – Public Works crews have begun work to construct a ¼ mile extension of the Huckleberry Trail from Heather Drive to Fire House #2. This work was made possible through a Virginia DCR grant obtained by the Parks & Recreation department and represents one more link in the Huckleberry trail extension to Heritage Park. All work will be outside of the roadway adjacent to westbound Prices Fork Road and will continue for the next two to three weeks.

Turner Street/ Main Street Traffic Signal Adjustments – In order to improve safety and to reduce delays on North Main at the Turner Street intersection, the signal will be rewired to enable a split phasing. With this adjustment, northbound traffic on Main Street will have a green while southbound traffic is stopped, and vice versa. This will allow a protected movement for vehicles turning left from Main onto Turner improving safety, and will also prevent through traffic delays caused by one vehicle on Main waiting to turn left on Turner preventing the traffic behind from going through on a green. The split phasing work to add left turn arrows at Turner and Main will be done Tuesday morning, next week. The intersection will be manned by Police during the work, starting at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday and the work should be completed by 12:00 p.m.\
